2024 Wuhan University Preparatory Program for International Students
Wuhan University, a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, is one of the "211 Project" and "985 Project" universities and is among the first batch of universities under the "Double First-Class" Initiative. Its preparatory program for international students is designed to prepare students for undergraduate studies, offering categorized teaching based on students' language proficiency and intended majors to help students improve their academic readiness.
Course Types and Class Descriptions
Three types of classes are offered based on academic disciplines:
Humanities Class (one semester/one academic year):
Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese Listening and Speaking, Elementary Reading, Chinese for Liberal Arts, HSK 4 Practice
Business and Economics Class (one semester/one academic year):
Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese Listening and Speaking, Elementary Reading, Chinese for Business and Economics, HSK 4 Practice, Mathematics
Science and Engineering Class (one semester/one academic year):
Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese Listening and Speaking, Elementary Reading, HSK 4 Practice, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
Program Admission Process
Applicants submit their application materials online and, upon approval, proceed to campus for studies.

Each applicant must hold a valid ordinary foreign passport

Application Materials
1. Scanned copy of valid ordinary foreign passport;
2. Notarized high school diploma or equivalent (recent graduates can provide a pre-graduation certificate or high school transcripts);
3. Original and notarized transcripts of all high school courses;
4. Chinese language proficiency certificate (not required for native Chinese speakers, subject to the university's verification);
5. Study plan written in Chinese or English (minimum 600 words);
6. Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (this form is issued by Chinese health and quarantine authorities, and must be completed in English or Chinese);
7. Police Clearance Certificate (within the last 6 months) required for those with prior study experience in China;
8. Other supporting materials (if any).
Note: There is no need to mail the above materials; they can be submitted online through Wuhan University's online application system (http://fses-admin.whu.edu.cn/).
Application Procedure
1. Login to the online application system (http://fses-admin.whu.edu.cn/member/login.do) of the School of International Education and create your account;
2. Select "Preparatory Study", follow the website instructions to complete your personal information and upload relevant application materials;
3. Pay the application fee (after submitting your application, the university will carry out an initial review. If approved, you will need to pay the application fee via the system. The application fee is non-refundable, regardless of admission status);
4. End of application. Please wait for further notification from the university.
Notes: a. The application fee is 800 CNY; b. All applications to Wuhan University are completed online. There is no need to mail hard copies.
