Call for Application for EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship

(2024/2025 Academic Year)

EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship program, a full scholarship program provided by the Ministry of Education of China (MOE) to promote mobility between China and Europe in higher education sector.

The Mission of P. R. China to the EU will continue to provide Chinese Government Scholarship through EU Window Program in 2024. As one of the designated universities, we welcome talents from EU member countries to study at Wuhan University.

Wuhan University (WHU) is a comprehensive and key national university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of China. It is also one of the "211 Project" and "985 Project" universities with full support in the construction and development from the central and local government of China. Wuhan University has built an elegant palatial architectural complex of primitive simplicity which blends perfectly the eastern architectural style with that of the west. It is honored as the "Most Beautiful University in China." Wuhan University has a glorious innovative tradition and enjoys a very high academic prestige. It has 34 schools in 6 faculties and 3 A-Level Grade Ⅲ affiliated hospitals, covering 13 areas. The prominence of education has won Wuhan University world-wide reputation and booming international exchanges and cooperation in recent years. It has established cooperative relationship with universities and research institutes in many countries and regions.

I. Introduction

EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship program sponsors students and scholars from EU member countries to undertake degree studies (bachelor, master and PhD), Chinese language study or academic researches.

a. Supporting Category

EU window scholarship supports undergraduate students, postgraduate students (for master and doctoral degree), general scholars and senior scholars.

b. Duration

The scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language study (preparatory study), as specified in the Admission Letter.

c. Majors

Wuhan University offers scholarship recipients academic programs in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, law, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts, among others. Please visit the website (http://www.campuschina.org) for further information.

II. Eligibility

To be eligible, applicant must

- be a citizen of an EU country and be in good health both mentally and physically.

- have no criminal record.

- be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;

- be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master programs;

- be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;

- be a high school graduate (at least) under the age of 45 when applying for general scholar programs;

- be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for senior scholar programs.

- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 3 when applying for Chinese-taught undergraduate or general scholar programs (studying Chinese language are exempted) or Chinese-taught senior scholar programs; have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 4 when applying for Chinese-taught master’s or doctoral programs;

- provide proof of English language proficiency with a TOEFL score of 80+ or IELTS score of 6.0+. Applicants who are unable to provide proof of standardized English language testing are required to provide proof of English language instruction for their previous degree studies. Applicants whose native language is English are exempt from providing proof of English language proficiency as described above.

III. Instructions for Application

STEP 1 Log on https://www.campuschina.org/，or download the attachment documents below and read them CAREFULLY. Prepare for all the required documents as instructed.

STEP 2 Contact Wuhan University for pre-admission. Please register and submit your online application at Wuhan University Online Application System for International Students at http://admission.whu.edu.cn. Click “APPLY NOW”and register, choose the source of funds -- Chinese government scholarship.

STEP 3 Register on CSC online application system https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn. Fill in the required information and submit all the required documents as instructed. For Program Category, select Type A. For Agency Number, select 00006.

STEP 4 Complete the online application no later than Feb. 15th, 2024. Write an email to Chinamissiontoeu@gmail.com, with the Application Form of Chinese Government Scholarship (it will be generated when the on online application is completed) as the attachment. The email will be titled as “CGS 2024 Application + serial number+ applicant’s name” (the serial number will be generated when online documents submitting is completed). This email should also include the valid mailing address for follow-up scholarship documents in July or August, 2024.
