3. Eligibility

lApplicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary passport, and be in good health both mentally and physically.

lApplicants must have attained a degree:

a) High school degree or above for Bachelor applicants

b) Bachelor's degree or above for Master applicants

c) Master's degree or above for Doctoral applicants

 lLanguage Requirements

 a) Applicants to English-taught programs are required to provide proof of English language proficiency with a TOEFL score of 80+/ TOEFL ESSIENCIALS 8+/ IELTS score of 6.0+ certificate. Applicants who are unable to provide proof of standardized English language test are required to provide proof of English language instruction for their previous degree studies.

 b) Applicants whose mother language is English are exempt from providing proof of English language proficiency as described above. You do not need to provide evidence of English language proficiency if you meet one of the following criteria:

Your first language is English; or you have completed or are completing a degree level course taught and assessed entirely in English.

 For CSC Scholarship Applicants: From December to April.

For other Applicants: From December to June.

lComplete the application form and upload the documents as required.

Application Documents Submission

lCopy of national passport biographical page and copy of the visa issued by Chinese embassies (if available)

lDegree certificate. Those who have not graduated yet must provide a proof of impending graduation

lAcademic Transcripts

lMaster’s program applicants should submit two academic recommendation letters from associate professors/professors in the related academic fields. Recommendation letters from two professors /senior professionals in related academic fields are required for PhD program applicants (graduate programs only)

lPersonal statement and a brief research plan (over 800 words). Besides, PhD program applicants need to submit a brief introduction of research experiences (graduate programs only)

lReport of English Language Test, e.g. TOEFL/TOEFL Essential/IELTS/others.

lApplicants who have any learning experiences in China should provide evidence of their academic performance from their previous institutions.

lNon-criminal Record (for Scholarship applicants only)

lPhysical Examination Report (within 6 months)

lFinancial Certification/Bank Statement (5000 USD or above)

lApplication fee of 800RMB / 111USD shall be paid within 7 days through http://admission.whu.edu.cn for online payment (self-sponsor applicants only)
