1. Introduction
Wuhan University is a key comprehensive university under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a participant university of the "985" project and "211 Project" in China and also one of the first universities approved under the national "Double First Class" initiative.
In order to train global governance talents with a broad international perspective, superior comprehensive quality, outstanding leadership and multicultural background, Wuhan University has launched two English-taught master programs, i.e. Geospatial Information Technology Program and Economic Development and Globalization in China Program, both have been included in the Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program.
2. Majors and Duration
Geospatial Information Technology Program and Economic Development and Globalization in China Program includes four majors. Scholarship applicants can choose among the following majors according to their professional background:

Supporting Candidates: Master students
Duration of Studies: Two years (“1+1” Mode)
First academic year: full-time course study, research work and preparation for thesis writing at Wuhan University
Second academic year: thesis writing based on their working experiences in the students’ home countries and complete the defense in China.
Students will be awarded Master’s degrees when obtain the required credits and complete the thesis and defense.

4. Eligibility
1) An applicant must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, under the age of 45 when applying and be in good health mentally and physically.
2) An applicant must have a bachelor’s degree or above, with at least 3 years of work experience. Those with professional training or work experience related to the proposed program will be given preference.
3) An applicant must be one of the following four categories:
l A government official at the division chief level (or equivalent level) or above;
l A senior manager of an institution or enterprise;
l An administrator of a university or scientific research institution;
l Those who have relevant employment or internship experience in international organizations.
5. How to Apply
1) Applicants should log on to the Wuhan University online application system for international students (http://admission.whu.edu.cn) to register, choose related school and major, then submit scanned copies of the application materials before April 1st, 2024. Please note that the application item is “Chinese Government Scholarship”. Wuhan University will organize documents review and interview, those who successfully pass all the assessment will get pre-admission letter.
2) After obtaining the pre-admission letter, please log on to Chinese Government Scholarship System for online application (http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login) and submit
application materials before April 15, 2024. Please select "Type A" for the scholarship type, and the agency code is 1563. The applicant program is "Youth of Excellence Scheme of China".
3) The China Scholarship Council (CSC) will review materials submitted by applicants and arrange expert review. The final results will be announced by CSC after the assessment.
6. Application Documents
1) Copy of ordinary passport biographical page. The validity of the passport should not be earlier than March, 2025.
2) Notarized highest degree certificate. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
3) Academic transcripts. Copies of academic records from the first to the last semester during the undergraduate. They can be in Chinese or English but must be accompanied by notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English.
4) Proof of language proficiency. Applicants shall hold a TOEFL 80+ or IELTS 6.0+ certificate. Applicants whose mother tongue is English or have previous degrees in English can be exempted from this requirement.
5) Certificate of employment or proof of work experience. Documents issued by the current employer which can prove the applicants’ position and working experiences.
6) CV and research proposal. The CV should include previous study and employment experiences. A research proposal written in English should contain no less than 1000 words.
7) Two letters of recommendation. They can be either from professors or associate professors, or from experts in the applicants working field, with the recommender’s signature, E-mail and Telephone.
8)A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form valid for 6 months.
9)Non-criminal record report issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
