Application Guide for 2023 EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship (Wuhan University)

EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship program, a full scholarship program provided by the Ministry of Education of China (MOE) to promote mobility between China and Europe in higher education sector. It is designed to support outstanding students from EU member states to study in China. Wuhan University is one of the prestigious universities designated to recruit students. We welcome students from EU to apply for the scholarship actively and to study in our university.

Wuhan University (WHU) is a comprehensive and key national university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of China. It is also one of the "211 Project" and "985 Project" universities with full support in the construction and development from the central and local government of China. 1. The Scholarship Program Introduction

a. Supporting Category

The scholarship supports Undergraduate programs, Graduate programs, general scholars and senior scholars’ programs.

b. Duration

The scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language study, as specified in the Admission Letter.

c. Institutions and Majors

Wuhan University offers scholarship recipients academic programs in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, law, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts, among others. Please visit the website (http://www.campuschina.org) for further information.

2.Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must

- be a citizen of an EU country and be in good health both mentally and physically.

- be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;

- be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;

- be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;

- be a high school graduate (at least) under the age of 45 when applying for general scholar programs;

- be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for senior scholar programs;

- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 3 when applying for Chinese-taught undergraduate or general scholar programs (studying Chinese language are exempted) or Chinese-taught senior scholar programs; have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 4 when applying for Chinese-taught master’s or doctoral programs;

- provide proof of English language proficiency with a TOEFL score of 80/ TOEFL ESSIENCIALS B2/ IELTS score of 5.5. Applicants who are unable to provide proof of standardized English language testing are required to provide proof of English language instruction for their previous degree studies. Applicants whose mother language is English are exempt from providing proof of English language proficiency as described above.

3.Instructions for Application

STEP 1 Log on https://www.campuschina.org/，or download the attachments below and read them carefully. Prepare for all the required documents as instructed.

STEP 2 Contact Wuhan University for pre-admission. Please register and submit your online application at Wuhan University Online Application System for International Students at http://admission.whu.edu.cn. Please choose the source of funds -- Chinese government scholarship.

STEP 3 Register on the online application system https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn OR https://www.campuschina.org/. For Program Category, select Type A. For Agency Number, select 00006. Fill in the required information in the system before printing out the Application Form of Chinese Government Scholarship.

STEP 4 Send hard copies of all the documents (including the Application Form of Chinese Government Scholarship) or related supporting materials by mail to the following office address in Brussels no later than Feb. 10th, 2023.
